A greasy spoon with perfect food. I mean, where else can you get a beautifully seared salmon steak along side runny eggs, asparagus, and a waffle? Always open, always tasty. There's a reason this restaurant has been open for decades.

Late nite on Friday, lighter than usual mob crowd, college age kids were quite polite eating with me and didn't make me feel out of place. Burger meat overcooked, but in a way not their fault as patties too small to be done otherwise. Had really nice lettuce mayo and tomato on it which freshened it up a bit. Ice tea synthetic, not fresh. Overall pretty good. One of their employees had died that day, so I felt with them, their pain.

I have enjoyed their food for nearly 20 years. It's a great place that's open 24 hours. The milkshakes and steak are highly recommended.

This place feels baked into it surrounding, like it's been there forever. Mostly because it has. Tiny on the inside with ample out side seating and a no frills needed atmosphere. The food mostly consists of typical diner fair but well done. Surprisingly well done. Also surprising is the variety of food the menu. There are just a few more things than you might expect from the kind of place where the only indoor seating is a bar facing the kitchen grill. The staff working behind the counter were good too. I would recommend this place, especially when you can sit outside and enjoy it.

Loved it! A seedy dive with limited seating, but fun to sit at the breakfast bar and watch the cook and wait staff perform their dance. Overpriced for the location and food, but a fun time. Seems like a spark would reduce this not up to code place to ashes. Fun to go once, but will search out nicer places with better seating

Absolutely amazingly tasty place. The staff is amazing. I can not praise this place enough, it's one of the best kept secrets of Northwest DC.

Exercise extreme caution. I was waiting for a milkshake and the guy comes traipsing out of the place - no gloves or face mask - with open food, from the trailer to the kitchen, like 3 times. Yeah. No. I'm good.

This place is great. I don't come here often, but the few times I have have all been terrific experiences! The food here is delicious (not that I've tried it all, of course), the servers are friendly, and it always smells good inside. STEAK-N-EGG is a very warm and welcoming place for all.

Excellent breakfast from the apple cinnamon waffles to the omelettes. A quaint greasy spoon that does food right.

Not impressed with the service, my eggs were runny or not done in other words. I said something and well nothing really got done. The griddle looks like something from hells kitchen, if Robert saw this he would loss his mind and say your lucky you haven't killed anyone yet. A rag, some disinfectant, a mop and some remodeling could do this place a huge favor. It came highly recommended but I suggest 7/11, lol, before going to there.

I didn't get a chance to eat here. I stepped inside to see if the previous reviews were on point, and the reviews are consistent! This restaurant is tiny! There's only about half a dozen counter stools to dine in with the bulk of seating outdoors, if you don't mind eating in the cold. I didn't have time to stay and wait to place an order. The food looks and smells good, and I'll return in the near future for a taste test.

This cute diner is like a hole in the wall gem. Everyone is always so friendly when I come in and service is good! They offer plant-based options that are amazing! Typical diner food, but had the homey taste!

Food was amazing I really enjoyed my funnel cake fries. My friend really enjoyed her steak and cheese she said" It was one of the best she ever had" I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not the most cozy place to eat at the inside is so small but if the weather permits it's a lot of room outside to sit. Great place to go like a carryout grab your food and go. Oh and the prices aren't too bad!

Yum! The pancakes, french toast, waffles, steak & eggs, hasbrowns, and grits were delicious! (I didn't order all that; my friends let me try their breakfasts.) (But I did order a lot. )

This restaurant is absolutely one of the finest restaurants in the area. Whenever I come to this place I am awfully pleased. They hold their high level service and the topmost level of cooking they serve. You no doubt will love this place. Very recommended.

Amazing spot with some of the best biscuits I've tasted in a long while. Steak-n-egg is the perfect late-night spot for when you're craving some quick, inexpensive greasy protein plates. The prices are great and the steak is more than adequate to suit cravings.The hash brow s are really crunchy and a big draw of the place is the 24-hour service. Definitely worth eating at. 10/10

Great 24 hour dinner that's like waffle house but wayyyyyy better! It's a tight squeeze inside but the patio is a great look if the weather is right! Plus FUNNEL CAKE FRIES...

I had a Tennessee Scramble Ham, bacon, sausage, with 3 eggs, busker and gravy. $11.99 and with cheese 12.99. Coffee is good and they have sour dough bread toast. A classic greasy spoon worth coming too. With only about 15 seats. Food was very good.

Awesome food! I'm not hard to please, and I tell you. I was impressed, the eggs were cooked perfectly. Home fries were also amazing. The French toast was really really good. I enjoyed everything about this meal!!

Great service and great food. This is a "hole in the wall" type of place but they always have the best food. If you're opposed to places don't have a certain appearance than don't go here but if you are looking for friendly service and damn good diner food, give it a try. I had corn beef hash and eggs! My husband had the country fried steak. Yummy!
